Tattoo Preparation
and Policies

Pre-Tattoo Preparation

  • Eat well the day before (preferably home-cooked to minimise risk of food poisoning)

  • Bring healthy snacks for your appointment as well as quick sugary snacks

  • There are local shops, but a packed lunch is advised

  • Sleep well the nights leading up to the appointment, being rested dramatically helps

  • No alcohol the night prior and no oral painkillers morning of your appointment as they act as blood thinners

  • Moisturise the area to be tattooed twice a day in the week leading up to your appointment

  • Please no guests to your appointments as there is either nowhere for them to sit or a small reception; they are not allowed in the tattooing areas

Design Process

  • Design drafts are usually sent a few days before your appointment, where necessary.

  • I work in order of upcoming bookings, so designs cannot be prepared earlier.

  • Minor tweaks are welcome. Major changes to the original brief may require a new deposit.

  • Major design changes requested within 72 hours of your appointment may require:
    1. A new appointment date, and/or:
    2. A new deposit, as this is treated as a cancellation of the original booking.

  • All design work is completed in my own time, outside of my regular tattoo appointments. Deposits cover time spent sourcing, compositing and hand stencilling each design as well as admin and equipment.

  • Please be available to respond to messages during the design period in case amendments are needed.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy

  • Only once a deposit has been paid is a booking secured; no discussed date and time is guaranteed until a deposit has been paid in full.

  • All deposits are non-refundable. This applies to cancellations for any reason, including emergencies.

  • Cancellations or reschedules within 5 days of your appointment will result in loss of your deposit. I am always sympathetic of circumstances but also need to ensure studio costs are covered.

  • With more than 5 days’ notice, your appointment may be rescheduled once only. Any further date changes will require a new deposit.

  • Deposits are valid for 6 months from the date of payment. For large, multi-session projects, this is extended to 6 months from your most recent session.

  • If you feel an emergency may arise within the 5-day window, please contact me as soon as possible. Rearranging your appointment may be preferable to cancelling and losing your deposit.

  • If you choose to cancel your appointment entirely, the deposit is forfeited regardless of notice given.

  • Your deposit is deducted from the total cost of your tattoo on the final session, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Refusal of Service

I reserve the right to refuse or terminate an appointment if, in my professional judgement, it is unsafe or inappropriate to proceed. This includes (but is not limited to) the following:

  • You arrive under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • You are sunburnt, have damaged, overly irritated, or broken skin in the tattoo area

  • You are unwell, have an active infection, or present a health risk

  • You behave in a disrespectful, aggressive, or inappropriate manner. If necessary the police will be contacted

  • You fail to follow pre-appointment instructions

  • You arrive to your appointment having applied a topical numbing cream without prior discussion and agreement

  • You provide false or incomplete information on consent or medical forms

  • You arrive excessively late with little to no warning or we would be unable to complete the arranged piece

  • If an appointment is refused or ended for any of the reasons above:
    1. Your deposit will be forfeited
    2. A new booking and deposit will be required to rebook

Agreement

By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read and agree to the preparation guides and policies above, including the non-refundable deposit and cancellation terms.

All of the information explained and required above is to allow the best experience and tattoo possible for both of us! I sincerely look forward to completing your new tattoo!
